About Us
Our Mission
The mission of the Highland Park Giants Hockey Association is to provide an enjoyable, educational and competitive hockey experience for Highland Park High School students who are interested in playing competitive hockey. Student athletes participate in a program that promotes learning and skill development, while fostering an environment of inclusiveness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our objective for program participants is that they enjoy all aspects of their hockey experience while providing a positive and lasting impact in their development as players, people, and members of the community.
Highland Park Giants Hockey has operated as an independent club sport managed by our coaching staff, board of directors, and parent volunteers since 1972. The program fields teams at both the varsity and junior varsity levels and plays in the highly competitive North Central Division of the Illinois High School Hockey League - primarily inclusive of high schools in Chicago's north and northwest suburbs.
The season starts in mid-August and concludes in March, with breaks coinciding with the high school’s winter and spring calendar. Teams also play several weekend tournaments during the season including at least one out-of-town tournament. Spring league is April and May and there are weekly summer skates.
