Welcome to Highland Park Giants High School Hockey!
Registration for the upcoming season is now open through August 6 and can be accessed using the provided link.
New registrants that do not have an existing Crossbar account must create one including contact information (e.g., address, phone, email). Once added to the database you will be set up to receive future communications and have improved access to program information.
During registration, all new and returning players must complete requested details including USA HOCKEY registration.
Supporting documents are required to be submitted with your registration. These include the following and can be completed digitally during registration:

Eligibility
The program is offered to all enrolled students at Highland Park High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
When
The regular season begins in late August and concludes in February, with breaks coinciding with the high school’s winter and spring calendars. League and State playoffs generally occur in February and March.
Activities
An average of 3-5 weekly on-ice activities are expected including practices and games. The Giants will participate in the IHSHL North Central Division. Additional weekend tournament registration fees are included with an expected two tournaments held within driving distance.
Off-ice conditioning and in-game Certified Athletic Trainers are also provided.
Locations
All home on-ice activities take place at Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park. IHSHL league games generally include high schools in Chicago's north and northwest suburbs. Additional non-conference games will occur around Chicagoland.
Fees and Payment
A $1,500 non-refundable deposit is required during registration. Overall base program cost per player is $6,950.
This includes a varsity surcharge (separately invoiced in prior years). The surcharge accounts for security details for specific games, a third official for certain games, and rental fees for the use of a private locker room.
Each registration includes pre-season skates, tryouts, team practices, and tournament registration fees. A payment plan is available during registration including direct debit and credit card payments (credit card payments incur processing fees).
Additional Expenses
A $675 equipment and jersey fee will be assessed to all new players.
This fee is assessed to all new players and includes two (2) Jerseys (Home & Away), Shells, Hockey Bag, Home & Away Socks, Giants Logo Helmet Stickers and a Warmup Jacket.
This will be automatically assigned when registering as a Regular Season New Player.
All players must have a Giants Royal Blue helmet, purchased on your own, to play for the Highland Park Giants.
FAQs
Is my deposit refundable?
A deposit must be paid at the time of registration. This deposit is non-refundable. If your player chooses not to try out or chooses not to play for the Giants after teams are selected, you will forfeit this amount. If your player is not assigned to a team, a refund of your deposit (less system processing fees) will be provided.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. While the full season fee can be paid at time of registration, an installment plan can be selected during the registration process. After paying the deposit, remaining fees can be paid over-time using the installment plan. Payments are due on the 15th of the month beginning the month after player rostering occurs - details are provided during registration. Once the plan is set up, payment will occur at defined intervals and a reminder email is sent.
A late payment fee may be assessed for delinquent payments.

What are the late payment policies?
Any payments not received within 14 days of the due date may be assessed a late fee. Players whose payment status is past due will not be allowed on the ice until their account is made current. Any manual check payments returned by the bank as NSF will be assessed a $15 fee to cover bank charges.
Are there discounts for multiple players or goaltenders?
Yes. There is a 10% discount for families with more than one player in the program and a 10% discount for goalies. For siblings, select the sibling rate on your second registration for the updated fee to be applied.
Are yard signs still available?
Yes. During registration you can elect to purchase a personalized yard sign for your player for $115.
