2025-2026 Season Registration
Welcome to Highland Park Giants High School Hockey!
Registration for the upcoming season is now open through August 1 and can be accessed using the provided link. As in prior years, the program anticipates fielding teams at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels.
As Crossbar is a new platform, users that do not have an existing Crossbar account must create one including contact information (e.g., address, phone, email). Once added to the database you will be set up to receive future communications and have improved access to program information.
During registration, all new and returning players must complete requested details including USA HOCKEY registration.
To simplify the process, supporting documents are not required at initial registration but will be required after your player has been rostered to a team - you will be sent a link to complete the following documents online (no more printing and uploading required):
- Highland Park High School Extracurricular Code of Conduct
- Highland Park High School Consent to Disclose Records
- Highland Park High School Release of Liability
- Highland Park Giants Hockey Parents Code of Conduct
- USA Hockey Consent to Treat Form
- AHAI High School Hockey Participation Form
As the season approaches, look for additional details regarding tryouts, team placements, and practice schedules. We’re looking forward to an exciting season.
Please register soon to secure your spot!
Eligibility
The program is offered to all enrolled students at Highland Park High School for the 2025-2026 school year.
When
The regular season begins in late August and concludes in February, with breaks coinciding with the high school’s winter and spring calendars. League and State playoffs generally occur in February and March.
Activities
An average of 3-5 weekly on-ice activities will occur including practices and games. Teams participate in the IHSHL North Central Division. Additional weekend tournaments (3 Varsity, 2 Junior Varsity) are included in registration fees with at least two held within driving distance.
A revised off-ice conditioning program is in development.
Locations
All home on-ice activities take place at Centennial Ice Arena in Highland Park. IHSHL league games generally include high schools in Chicago's north and northwest suburbs. Additional divisional crossover games may occur around Chicagoland.

A $1,500 non-refundable deposit is required during registration. Overall base program cost per player is $6,200 accounting for inflation and to cover operating expenses. Each registration includes pre-season skates, tryouts, team practices, and tournament registration fees. A payment plan is available during registration including direct debit and credit card payments (credit card payments incur processing fees).
Additional Expenses
Once rostered, varsity players have an additional surcharge of $675 to cover the cost of one additional tournament, security details for required games, a third official for certain games, and rental fees for the use of a private locker room.
A $675 equipment and jersey fee will be assessed to all new players.
FAQs
Is my deposit refundable?
A $1,500.00 deposit must be paid at the time of registration. This deposit is non-refundable. If your player chooses not to try out or chooses not to play for the Giants after teams are selected, you will forfeit this amount.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. While the full season fee can be paid at time of registration, an installment plan can be selected during the registration process. After paying the $1,500 deposit, remaining fees can be paid over-time using the installment plan. Payments are due on the 15th of the month beginning the month after player rostering occurs - details are provided during registration. Once the plan is set up, payment will occur at defined intervals and a reminder email is sent.
A late payment fee may be assessed for delinquent payments.
If you need to discuss other payment arrangements, please contact the Treasurer via email.
What are the late payment policies?
Any payments not received within 14 days of the due date may be assessed a late fee. Players whose payment status is past due will not be allowed on the ice until their account is made current. Any manual check payments returned by the bank as NSF will be assessed a $15 fee to cover bank charges.
Are there discounts for multiple players or goaltenders?
Yes! There is a 10% discount for families with more than one player in the program and a 10% discount for goalies. If your player is a goalie, please select Goalie as their position to be presented with the correct amount. Families with multiple players will be provided a unique registration link to register additional players. You can email the Registrar for more information or if you have not received a unique link.
What is covered by the new player equipment and Jersey fee?
This fee is assessed to all new players and includes two (2) Jerseys (Home & Away), a third (alternate) Jersey, Shells, Hockey Bag, Home & Away Socks, Giants Logo Helmet Stickers and a Warm Up Jacket.
Are yard signs still available?
